Joining Verath and enrolling your identity
How sign-up works and how you prove you own your NIN and BVN.
Signing up
Verath is preparing to launch. Join the waitlist with your email address and we will invite you when enrolment opens.
Proving the identity is yours
To protect a NIN or BVN you must show it belongs to you. Enrolment is designed to use:
- For your NIN: a Virtual NIN (vNIN) that you generate for Verath in the NIMC app or by USSD.
- For your BVN: a one-time code sent to the phone number registered on your BVN.
- For both: a quick selfie check to confirm a real person is present.
Only after you have proved ownership does Verath check whether someone else already protects that number. This stops anyone using sign-up to find out whose number is enrolled.
What Verath keeps
Your number is encrypted as soon as you enter it and is never stored in readable form. See How Verath protects your data.
