VerathYour digital identity. Reimagined.

Business solutions

Stop identity fraud with the owner on your side.

Verath turns every identity check into a chance for the real owner to confirm or dispute it. You get a fraud signal no other source can provide, straight from the person whose identity is being used.

What you get

Signals and controls for every point of identity use

Owner-disputed signal

A direct, real-time signal from the identity owner that a check was not theirs.

Owner-confirmed signal

Positive confirmation that the genuine owner initiated the check.

Fits your workflow

Webhooks into your fraud desk or case tool, with the reference you already use.

Lightweight integration

One signed event per lookup. No changes to how you verify customers today.

Planned

Identity lock checks

Ask “is this identity locked?” before opening an account.

Distribution partnerships

Offer Verath to your customers as a bundled protection benefit.

Who we work with

Built for the institutions that touch identity

Fintechs & digital lenders

  • Know when a customer disputes an onboarding or loan check
  • Hold suspicious applications before disbursement
  • Show customers you take their identity seriously

Banks

  • Owner-disputed signals on new account openings
  • Disputes delivered to your fraud case tool with an event reference
  • A future lock check at account opening

Verification providers

  • Owner notification as a value-add for your clients
  • Hashed events only, no client lists shared
  • Dispute routing back to the client that ran the check

Credit bureaus

  • Consented owner alerts on credit inquiries and new loans
  • A fraud signal tied to specific inquiries
  • Support for consumer protection goals

Government, identity ecosystem and cross-border partners

Verath is designed to complement consent-first initiatives in Nigeria’s identity ecosystem, such as tokenised Virtual NIN checks and BVN consent prompts, by giving citizens visibility of how their identity is used. We welcome conversations with ecosystem bodies and with partners exploring cross-border identity protection.

    Account openings, KYC

  • National identity rails

    Long-term goal

Verath platform

  1. 01Signed event gateway

  3. 03Alert engine
  4. 04Dispute router
No match → event dropped, nothing stored

Simplified architecture. Partners send a keyed hash of the identity number; only matches with enrolled owners produce an alert. Dashed items are future phases.

FAQ

For partners

Do we have to send Verath our customer data?

No. You send a keyed hash of the identity number, computed with a key Verath issues to you, along with the institution, purpose, time and your reference. Events that don’t match an enrolled owner are dropped and not stored.

Will this slow down our onboarding?

No. Events are sent alongside your existing verification flow and do not block it. The planned lock check is designed to respond quickly and to fail open if Verath is unavailable.

How is this priced?

Our planned model is a per-check fee for the fraud signal, priced well below the cost of a single fraudulent account. Talk to us about early-partner terms.

Is Verath live?

Verath is in development and onboarding early partners. The API is in preview and may change.
