When a NIN is protected on Verath, its owner gets a ping on their phone. If it isn’t them, the check fails on the spot.

Locks are respected

Owners can lock their NIN. Nobody gets verified with it, by you or anyone else, unless the owner allows it.

Good to know

How much does it cost?: You pay only for completed checks, with no subscription or setup fee. Pilot businesses get free checks while we launch. Ask us for pricing.
What do I need?: A Verath business account. That’s it: no developers, no app, no hardware. The person only needs a smartphone with a camera.
Which IDs can be checked?: The NIN, matched against the photo on the NIMC record.
What data do I get?: The result, whether the name matches, the last 2 digits of the NIN and any warning signs. Never face images, ID scans or the full NIN.
Is the person asked for consent?: Yes. They see who’s asking and why, and agree before anything is checked. Verath never keeps photos of their face.
What if the owner doesn't respond?: That’s neutral, not a fail. You still get the face-match result, and you decide.
